Rule 3. Dimensions of the Ice Surface
As nearly as possible, the dimensions of the ice surface shall be 60 meters in length by 25 meters in width. The corners shall form an arch circle whose radius shall be as near as possible to 8.5 meters.
A fence or wall, known, as the BOARDS shall enclose the ice surface, which may be constructed of wood, plastic or any other material approved by the IBFA. Measured from the surface of the ice, the boards shall be at least 1 meter in height, while not exceeding 1.2 meters in height. The inner surface of these boards shall be, if possible, painted white and shall be free from any object or obstruction that may cause injury to the players.
NOTE: Measurements in feet and inches are:
a) 60 meters = 196 ft. 10 in.
b) 25 meters = 82 ft.
c) 8.5 meters = 27 ft. 11 in.
d) 1 meter = 3 ft. 3 in.
e) 1.2 meters = 3 ft. 11 in.
